Roaming the Globe Cookbook Release Party
Written by Michele Vieux

I don’t even know where to start this blog. I guess I’ll just start with the big announcement. I am finally putting out a cookbook!

It still doesn’t seem like it is really happening. I’ve been asked to do this and talked about the possibility for a number of years but never actually did it for a number of reasons. But you guys kept asking and fortunately, Invictus began looking into launching a series of eBooks, appointing Shane Farmer, project manager. To me, this meant that I would only have to provide the content and creative direction and someone else (Shane) would take care of the details, planning, organization, and timeline. What a perfect situation, and Shane did a wonderful job managing the project. There would be no book without him and Invictus’ (CJ’s) backing.

I have so many recipes floating around in my head. Some I have made a hundred times, some only once, but I always remember how I made them and what ingredients I used. This is great, in and of itself, but it means that they are not categorized and they are not in writing. The first step in writing this book was to come up with a theme. I choose a theme that kept my catering business alive – quick and easy. It was then I was able to begin to organize recipes under creative chapter headings – Saucy Toppings for Cauliflower Rice, How to Give Wilted Greens the Love they Deserve, Flavorful Veggies in Disguise, and One Pot Wonders – Meals in Under 12 Minutes. But I wanted this to be more than just a recipe book kind of cookbook, so with each recipe I included a story or a suggestion for a new variation. Some make me chuckle when I read them (I hope you will too) and you may even know a couple of the people I mention.

Roaming the Globe – Practical Paleo for Busy People” is being released, in eBook format, at a HUGE PARTY at Invictus this Friday, June 29th at 6:30 p.m. The party is to celebrate this long-awaited day, of course, but it is has also been a while since we all got together in our “real clothes” for an event. Besides the release of Roaming the Globe there will be a Paleo Carnival where you can win chances at some great raffle prizes AND a Paleo cooking contest with two surprise celebrity judges!

I know each of you has been complimented on at least one of your Paleo cooking creations at some point, so bring that! It doesn’t have to be fancy, and actually, practical is better because most of us are looking for quick and easy options to support our busy lifestyles. You can sign up on the board at the gym. Information is being sent out on the event via email, so if you haven’t been getting them check with one of the staff to make sure we have your correct email. We will also post details about the event on the blog in the next few days and you are always welcome to contact Jaimie ([email protected]).

Congratulations Michelle, I was hoping to join you at the celebration on Friday but sadly I have to work. I’ll be purchasing a copy cause goodness knows we’re always looking for new meals to prepare, I’m sure there’s enough yummy recipes to keep going for a while. Maybe one day I’ll give you some competition with my own book “Cooking the Mexican Paleo Way”. MUCH SUCCESS! Annabel
