Product Review: Primal Pit Paste
Written by Michele Vieux

I don’t claim to have terrible body odor (B.O), but I can definitely put deodorant to the test and I did just that over the past month with not only my daily workouts, but also with travel to tropical Costa Rica weather where I was sweating  24-7.

Let me preface this review with the fact that I am super picky about my choice of underarm protectant. I am paranoid about smelling bad, especially since I work in a gym where I sweat a lot. My body has the uncanny ability to change even the most luxurious scents to that of granny perfume.

I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with Primal Pit Paste’s ability to not only keep up with my adventures, but also keep it’s original, fresh scent for up to 24 hours at time. There are a variety of scents available, some of which are “extra strength”. My favorite scent is Orange Creamsicle but I think that must be the “kids” version as it is the least strong and has baking soda as the second ingredient instead of the first like the others scents. Besides Orange Creamsicle, the Lavender is lovely and is my go-to choice but they also offer Jasmine, Lemongrass-Thyme, and Unscented varieties.

In addition to the fact that it works and smells great, Primal Pit Paste contains all natural and safe ingredients so I don’t have to worry about exposing myself to toxic chemicals just to keep from smelling. (See my blog post, “Are You Mindful of What You Put ON You Body?” for more info on this topic.) I also don’t need to reapply it and was able to go over 24 hours without odor while traveling without needing to freshen up. And they don’t test on animals which makes me even happier to purchase the product!

My sister had the chance to test this as well since I sent her some when, much to her dismay, her beloved brand – the only one she’s found that doesn’t irritate her pits – was discontinued. She loves the Primal Pit Paste and has been irritation-free since she started using it.

Since this product uses the highest quality ingredients, the price point is a little high – around $10 per stick – but it does last a long time. I have been using my first stick for over a month now and it is only about half gone.

They are coming out with other products like toothpaste, chapstick, lotion and more and you can purchase all of these on their website or on Amazon.com. I highly recommend you give Primal Pit Paste a try.

I am a HUGE fan of Primal Pit Paste! I won’t use anything else now. I love the Primal Spice, Lavender and Lemongrass-thyme in the stick. Try it!
