Breaking Down the Butterfly Pull-Up One Foot on Box Butterfly Drill

Breaking Down the Butterfly Pull-Up: The Bottom Half
Written by Lindsey Johnson

We’re back and ready to practice the second part of those pesky butterfly pull-ups! The last time we talked about using the box to stand on with both feet to practice the circular movement of the butterfly pull-up. If you missed that one check out my post Breaking Down the Butterfly Pull-Up: The Pull.

We’re still going to work with the box, but this time we’re going to take one foot off and practice what your legs are supposed to be doing. In this drill, we’ll keep one foot on the box to allow us to slow down the movement and practice getting the rhythm down.

Check out this video of Tammy, one of our Invictus athletes, and then follow along with the still pictures to get a better idea of what we’re doing here.
