You’ll find you will be more focused and get more done in the 50 minutes you’re at the desk. With movement our brain works better (research shows it). Use the 10 minutes to switch off, give your brain a rest, and give your body some movement. This could be as simple as wall to the bathroom once an hour. You can also grab a cardboard box or a plastic container and turn your workstation into a standing workstation, this may be the loophole that will enable your standing workstation.

My question would be how to take frequent walks/breaks from the desk when you work in a high production environment where time spent away from your desk means less work getting done during those times. I come from an environment where I’m expected to do x amount of actions an hour accumulated through the day and every time i get up from my desk, i’m lowering the opportunity to complete those tasks.

Suggestions for people who feel locked to their crappy desk? Especially when the bossman says no standing desks. What are loopholes to issues like these?

Thanks!
